Meet Our Team:
the Degree of Bachelor of Laws from London University and
the Degree of Bachelor of Arts from the Open University. Called
to the Bar at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple
Since 1997 has worked with the firm of De Cotta McKenna y
Santafé as an academic barrister advising on all aspects
of private international law. With over 10 years experience
working in Spain, she regularly advises on all aspects of
private international law. Particular knowledge of jurisdictional
matters both in civil and commercial
law. Works closely with
Antonio Diaz on litigation in Spain and England. Specialist
knowledge and experience of the timeshare industry. In 2001
appointed Honorary Legal Adviser to the British Consul of

Reyes comes from Soria, a medieval city in Castilla y Leon,
north of Madrid. Having studied law with Universidad Nacional
de Educación a Distancia (UNED) until 1999, Reyes went
on to work for a major international law firm in Madrid for
a number of years, gaining significant experience in a number
of areas of law, including civil law.
Reyes has been working in litigation for the English speaking community for many years and has invaluable experience in making strong representation before the civil courts. She is a member of Reunite for Child Abduction cases.
After some months in the UK, she mastered her English,
the beauty and climate of Andalucia and the province of Malaga,
attracted Reyes back to Spain. Now director of De Cotta’s
Nerja office, Reyes specialises in Family Law with both Spanish
and international perspectives; Conflicts of Jurisdictions
and the application of foreign law; civil law; as well as
enforcement of debts etc.
In her spare time, Reyes enjoys
a number of outdoor sports, reading and relaxing and socialising
with her friends.
Javier Martín Martín
Francisco studied law at the Universities of Malaga and Granada before gaining
valuable expertise in one of the region’s well known law firms.
spent a year with a law firm in Exeter, in the UK, to gain a genuine insight
and understanding of English law.
De Cotta law, Francisco is based at our Nerja office and
specialises in Property & Urban Law; Criminal Law,
as well as Inheritance & Probate.
His expertise in Commercial
Law has led to his achievement of the title “Gestor
Administrativo” – Company
Administrator, for all legal aspects of commercial company
administration. He has a strong background in criminal law including representing families of victims as well as defendants.
Known as Curro to his friends, Francisco enjoys
all types of out door sports in his spare time.
Thomas Gant Lopez
We have now extending our services to the Scandinavian community. Thomas Gant
Lopez, is a fully qualified Spanish lawyer and uniquely placed to assist the Danish living on the Costa del Sol. Thanks to his Danish and Spanish background, he is multilingual, speaking English, Spanish and of course Danish and understands perfectly the legal needs of the Danish community.

Naomi has been with the firm since 2002. She is your first point of contact at reception and can assist in the preparation of Spanish Wills and Powers of Attorney. One of her favourite things about the job is seeing former clients walk back through the doors, of which there are many.
When not working, Naomi enjoys writing articles for local magazines and running a popular dance fitness class in the winter months for the lovely ladies of Nerja.
Helene Gray is based in the Nerja office. She is the PI Administrator in the personal injury department, co-ordinating and assisting the fee earners and partners across the De Cotta Law network of offices in Nerja, Coin and Tenerife.
In addition, as one of the legal secretaries in the Nerja office, Helene also covers reception from time to time, meeting and greeting clients as well as being responsible for banking and reconciliation of the Nerja client accounts.
Originally from Ayrshire in Scotland, Helene lives in Nerja, and is passionate about animals, the great outdoors and enjoys hill walking, hiking and even sea kayaking!
