services the Firm will embark on a year of raising funds
and assisting charities local to our network of offices.

As a long established associate of UK solicitors, Humphries Kirk, De Cotta Law is very pleased to have been able to support the recent Humphries Kirk Network Seminar of International Lawyers. This year’s seminar , which was attended by local businesses as well as eight international associate and correspondent lawyers from six different countries, gave guests an insight into business in France and Ireland.

De Cotta McKenna y Santafé is supporting
Cudeca Foundation
In support of Cudeca Foundation’s latest campaign
to save its inpatient centre, De cotta will make an immediate
cash donation to this remarkable, cancer care charity
for each client that uses the locally based law firm to draw
up a new or updated Will.
All you need to do is leave a legacy
in your Will in favour of Cudeca Foundation, the non-profit
charity. Everyone can contribute in some small way to the
work done at Cudeca and thanks to De Cotta, now you can make
sure that Cudeca benefits twice: firstly, right now with
De Cotta’s immediate
donation and secondly thanks to the legacy in your new Will
which will be tax free.
It’s remarkable to think that
almost 30% of us don’t
have Wills. Living in Spain it is especially important to
make sure you have a Will to protect your loved ones and
make sure your wishes are respected. A Will also gives
you a chance to make donations to worthy causes such as Cudeca
Foundation.
So, please take this special opportunity
to get a new Will or update your present Will and at the
same time know that you will be helping those with cancer
and their families.
The legacy that we leave after our death is an opportunity
to decide and make sure that our children, relatives and
charities we care about may receive our last support. Death
does not have to cut short all our efforts.
We are aware of the fact that it is difficult to think of
one's own Will and to think that we ourselves are going to
die one day, but drawing up a Will gives us the opportunity
to look back on our past experience and perhaps distribute
our legacy in a way that will help us contribute to solving
some of the problems in our local community.
You can achieve this by remembering Cudeca Foundation in
your Will, either by mentioning a set figure or leaving a
percentage of the total value of your inheritance. Another
way would be to leave part or all of your assets to Cudeca
so that their valued work may continue.

Party
Friday 13th of June 2008 was the law firm’s lucky
day as Partners and VIP guests, partied to live
music from “The Silver Beats”, Spain’s
leading Beatles Tribute Band.
Held at “Caseta de la Peña Juanito” in
the heart of the Fuengirola Feria Ground, the Summer Charity
Party was a great way to commemorate the remarkable achievement
of 25 years on the coast as well as raise money for local
charities to the amount of:
250€ for the English Cemetery of Málaga
252€ for Cudeca

WALKING WONDERS
A SPONSORED walk raised more than
885 euros for cancer charity Fundación
Cudeca on April 13.
Legal firm De Cotta McKenna y Santafe,
friends and clients completed the walk
from their Nerja office to Frigiliana’s
Garden Restaurant.
The event raised money for the foundation,
which cares for cancer patients in
the Málaga province.

DECOTTA LAW CHARITABLE WALK A SUCCESS
De Cotta McKenna y Santafé and friends completed
a sponsored walk from the De Cotta McKenna y Santafé´s
Nerja Office to The Garden Restaurant in Frigiliana. This
is part of De Cotta McKenna y Santafé charitable fund
raising to mark its 25th Anniversary of providing legal services
for English Speaking residents, business owners
and home owners in Southern Spain.
Great food & entertainment was laid on by the Garden
Restaurant and Team España, a Firm of estate agents
in Nerja, sponsored a water stop along the route.
De Cotta McKenna y Santafé is
pleased to confirm that over 1,000 euros was raised for Fundación
Cudeca.
NERJA OFFICE CHARITY WALKATHON - BE A PART OF IT!
On Sunday 13 April 2008 there will be a sponsored charitable
walk from the Nerja offices of the law firm De Cotta McKenna
y Santafé on Calle Diputacion Num 6-2A to The Garden
Restaurant in Frigiliana via the Rio Chillar river bed.
The cost of participating in the sponsored walk will be 10
euros and all proceeds raised will go to Fundación
Cudeca so they can continue to offer free of charge a “special
kind of caring” to terminally ill cancer patients within
the province of Málaga.
The walk is being organised by De Cotta McKenna y Santafé and
Cudeca and the Garden Restaurant in Frigiliana will lay on
some hot food for all who arrive at the finish line.
